Boy George revealed he used to get planes to wait for him before they took off during the height of his fame in the 1980s.
During I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Wednesday, the campmates were reminiscing on times they’ve been late for work which led to George recalling how he used to hold flights and then passengers would ‘sneer’ at him when he boarded.
Discussing times they’ve been late for work Seann revealed: ‘I literally got out the cab, shut the door, looked at the venue…
Back in the day: Boy George revealed he used to get planes to wait for him before they took off during the height of his fame in the 1980s
‘I’m not running late, but running close to the time, shut the door, I looked around, the venue was shut… I went to Hereford instead of Hertford.’
Boy George, 61, insisted: ‘I’d never be late, I’m there hours before. I got there five hours before a show. Never.’
Jill laughed, saying: ‘I’ve never turned up to the wrong stadium for a game.’
However, Jill did reveal she’d turned up to the wrong speaking event once: ‘I was on at 12.30pm, the guy comes, takes my bag, mics me up.

‘He says, ‘Oh, Jill, I didn’t even know you were speaking today. I was like, ‘Sorry I’m just running a bit late, I’m probably not the main person’, having a bit of a joke.
‘He gets us up on stage, I look up, I’m at Vodafone. I was like, ‘I’m not talking for Vodafone today’. I was at the wrong talk.’
Boy George revealed: ‘I did a show with Adam Ant in America a couple of years ago. He turned up a minute before he went on stage. Suddenly this car pulls up, he gets out, walks on. He must have planned it, it was so brilliant. Everyone was freaking out.’
Chris said: ‘I’ve arrived at the studio, got out of the cab, walked in, as the jingle’s playing… I just walked through the door, put my headphones on, went, ‘Good morning everybody’.
Awkward: Jill Scott (right) revealed she had once turned up at the wrong event where she was scheduled to speak at
‘It was timed to perfection, but we all started laughing rather than carry on and be cool.’
Scarlette admitted: ‘That is too stressful for me.’
Boy George then said: ‘I used to hold flights in the 80s. People would sneer, you’d get on… they’d call you in the car, ‘How far away are you?’
‘I remember this one time we were going to America, myself and John Cleese were both heading towards the airport, there were traffic jams, it was raining, when you get on that flight and people are like…’
Boy George then said: ‘I used to hold flights in the 80s. People would sneer, you’d get on’
Confirming to Jill he meant the plane waited for him, Boy George continued: ‘Just one of those things in the 80s. They want you on the flight.’
Jill later said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘That’s just another world for me. I don’t think anybody would be holding flights for me.’
