Comedian Adam Hills shared the mood in Matt Hancock’s constituency after the MP joined this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! line-up.
The Australian comedian appeared on Monday morning’s Good Morning Britain programme with hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley after he held a surgery in the MP’s West Suffolk constituency.
Host Richard asked whether the former Health Secretary’s constituents are ‘fed up with him’ after he jetted off to Australia to enter the jungle.
Adam noted that everyone who arrived for the West Suffolk constituency brought a ‘genuine issue’ as he added: “I was really surprised. I thought people would just have some comedy issues, but no.
“People wanted better access to public transport, to dentists, to doctors. All that kind of stuff.”

He continued: “At the end of it, they all said we just want to be listened to. That was the main thing. ‘We just want Matt Hancock to come here and listen to us’. It’s like a marriage. They want the other person to listen to you.”
Richard noted it sounded like there was ‘more sorrow than anger’, to which Adam said that was ‘absolutely’ the case.
He added: “People aren’t angry, they just want him to turn up and listen to their concerns and it’s really hard.

“A whole bunch of people said it would just be nice to get a response. They sent emails, they sent letters and the response was ‘I’m sorry I’m eating a kangaroo’s penis in the Australian jungle right now’. That’s now what they’re hoping for.”
This comes after Mr Hancock’s girlfriend Gina Coladangelo couldn’t resist a dig at the MP in her letter from home on I’m A Celebrity.
After a successful day of winning trials, the celebrities sat down to read their letters from home and the MP received his from Gina, who has flown out to be the one who meets him at the end of the bridge when he makes his exit.

It was up to Lioness Jill Scott to read out Mr Hancock’s letter from his girlfriend, who hit the headlines in 2021 when a picture of them kissing emerged.
The footage from the MP’s Whitehall office sparked fury as he was accused of breaking his own Covid guidelines, prompting his resignation as Health Secretary.
In the letter, even Gina couldn’t resist a dig at the MP after she praised him for conquering some of his fears.
“Dear Matt, wow watching you in the jungle has been quite the experience. We are particularly impressed that you conquered your fear of snakes. We are less sure about the dancing,” she wrote in the letter.
She added: “Although we saw that you almost got the electric slide thanks to Scarlette. Gina xxxxx”
