Saudi Arabia fans mercilessly mocked Lionel Messi by repeatedly doing Cristiano Ronaldo‘s ‘Siu’ celebration after their shock win against Argentina.
The Middle Eastern nation, who are outside the top 50 in FIFA’s rankings, pulled off one of the World Cup‘s biggest-ever upsets this morning (November 22) after coming from behind to beat one of the pre-tournament favourites.
Messi had given Argentina the lead early on after they were awarded a penalty but Saleh Alshehri drew the underdogs level shortly after the break. Salem Aldawsari then scored a screamer to complete the turnaround.

Saudi Arabia managed to hold on to the victory to stun Messi and Co. And the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s pain didn’t end there.
As the joyous fans of the winning side filtered out of the Lusail Stadium, a large group started to ‘Siu’ in honour of Messi’s long-time rival Ronaldo.
They weren’t the only ones to troll Messi – because Saudi boss Herve Renard got in on the act too.

Renard shared an Instagram post on his story which was a photoshopped version of Louis Vuitton’s recent chess advertisement with Ronaldo and Messi playing each other.

They do also have Poland and Mexico in their group, though, so progressing to the knockout stages will be no easy task.
