Mum who covered face in tattoos gets England flag ink to cheer on Qatar World Cup bid

While many us will be donning our England shirts, one tattoo-addicted mum is showing her support for the Three Lions a little bit differently.

Melissa Sloan, 45, says she’s barred from pubs due to her extreme ink, so won’t be cheering on Harry Kane and the boys from the boozer for their World Cup quarter final with France tonight (10 December).

But the mum-of-two, who lives in Wales, has instead dedicated one of her many facial tattoos to the England team who are hoping to reach the semi-finals out in Qatar.

Despite letting her partner Luke ink ‘prison style’ designs on her face triweekly, often layering and replacing them with new designs, Melissa decided that the national flag is staying untouched – for now.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the ink enthusiast shared that she has covered up her previous butterfly tattoos with seven crucifixes but won’t be touching the St George’s Cross anytime soon.

The mum explained: “It’s for the World Cup you see.

“I don’t watch it but they might win, he (Luke) wants me to keep it.

“When I first started, I got these England flags under my eyes.

“If I could go back in time, I’d get it all off and just have two World Cup, England crosses right here on my cheek.

“It looks better there under the eyes.”

Although she got the ink while England were losing a game in the past, Melissa hopes that having the national symbol on her face brings better luck this time round.

“We might win this time, you never know,” she said.

Although Melissa is showing her support, it seems that after the World Cup, the flags might but up for culling.

Not giving too much away about her future face modifications, the mum simply said: “I might go over that.”

Previously, Melissa told that Daily Star that she will not stop getting tattoos even if she ‘loses a leg to infection’.

“Some tattoos have never healed”, she revealed.

“The skin has fallen off and I’ll still get another one. You’re supposed to wait but I’m impatient so I’ll just keep having them done.

“Yeah I have [got them infected] and I’ll still carry on.

“I’ll still carry on even if my leg was coming off – I will still have to have the tattoo done.”
