Jose Mourinho is sensationally being touted as a replacement for Fernando Santos as Portugal boss, which would also see him combine his managerial duties with AS Roma.
The self-proclaimed ‘special one’, 59, is currently situated as Head Coach in the Italian capital, continuing his rich winning streak by claiming the inaugural Europa Conference League trophy in his debut season. Indisputably one of the game’s greatest-ever gaffers, Mourinho has bagged a sensational 26 major honours throughout a glittering career in the dugout, including eight top-flight titles across four leagues.
First stepping into the hot seat with Benfica in 2000, the ex-Chelsea and Manchester United boss is now onto his ninth different club but is yet to test himself at international level – though that now looks set to change.

According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mourinho tops the managerial wish-list put together by the Portuguese Football Federation (PFF) to replace Fernando Santos and the role is understood to be of interest to the two-time Champions League winner.
Though still under contract at the Olympic Stadium until the end of the 2023/24 season, Mourinho is unwilling to depart I Giallorossi midway through his rebuilding project and so the proposal from the PFF is that the 59-year-old would manage both sides simultaneously.
