Paddy Pimblett roasted by fan favourite who says he ‘doesn’t belong’ in UFC

Paddy Pimblett has been mocked by a rival in the lightweight division – who insists he doesn’t belong in the UFC.

The Brit controversially beat Jared Gordon at UFC 282 in Las Vegas last weekend, with many feeling Pimblett did not deserve the victory and lost at least two rounds.

That win extended The Baddy’s unbeaten run to four in the promotion but fan favourite Bobby Green was far from impressed with the performance.

“I actually think he’s an amateur fighter, he’s not even a professional, he’s an amateur. He doesn’t belong there,” Green told Eurosport.

Asked if he would face the Brit, he added: “Of course I would take it. I would take the easy money. At the same time, it wouldn’t do anything for my brand after I did it.

“It would be like, well he was supposed to. It wouldn’t do anything for me but I’d do it for s***s and giggles.”

“Paddy would never take that fight, Paddy would never take that fight, okay. I know for a fact he would never take the fight. He doesn’t have enough skills to even dance with me.

“It would actually be disrespect if they put him in there with me. I’d have to get rid of him really fast because it would be disrespectful if we are in the same cage.”

Pimblett’s stock fell somewhat last week after his performance followed a series of PR blunders in the build-up to the fight. And PFL champion Brendan Loughnane, who was in Vegas as Darren Till’s trainer, isn’t convinced either.

“Paddy’s marmite, you love him or you hate him. I don’t think he did himself any favours,” Loughnane told Sky Sports.

“I know Paddy and I like him but he is not top 10 material in the UFC. I am just being brutally honest, he is not.

“Maybe he thinks he is but I really don’t and I know, I train with the top 10 UFC guys on a regular and I know the levels. It’s scary. The 155lb top 10 is insane.”
