‘I did it first!’: John Terry pokes fun at Sergio Aguero celebrating World Cup win in Argentina kit

‘I did it first!’: John Terry pokes fun at Sergio Aguero celebrating Argentina’s World Cup final win in their kit (despite being RETIRED!) – with the ex-Chelsea captain claiming he set the trend at the 2012 Champions League final

  • Argentina beat France on penalties to win the World Cup on Sunday
  • Emilano Martinez made the difference in the shootout after a stunning game
  • Sergio Aguero had to retired last year but was part of the celebrations
  • John Terry joked that he was copying what he did back in 2012

John Terry saw the funny side as he watched Sergio Aguero celebrate Argentina’s World Cup win with the team in their kit despite not being involved in the tournament.

Terry famously did something similar when he donned his Chelsea kit following Chelsea’s Champions League triumph in 2012, even though he had been suspended for the final.

Argentina beat France in what many consider to be the best World Cup final ever on Sunday, winning the game on penalties following star showings from Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

Aguero was forced to retire last year but close friend Messi made sure he was involved

There were jubilant scenes on the pitch after the game as you would expect.

And Aguero, who was forced to retire last year due to heart problems, was seen on the pitch with the team.

He also looked the part, wearing one of Nicolas Otamendi’s shirts as he shared an embrace with best friend Messi.

Watching the scenes, Terry, acting as a pundit on beIN SPORTS, commented: ‘Aguero has gone for the full John Terry there hasn’t he?! I did it first.’
