Twitter hails Roy Keane’s ‘extravagant’ new MOUSTACHE ahead of Argentina’s showdown with France

‘Fitting for a World Cup final!’: Twitter hails Roy Keane’s ‘extravagant’ new MOUSTACHE for Argentina’s showdown with France as fans claim it ‘might give ITV the edge over BBC’ – while others joke he’s lost a bet!

Roy Keane debuted a new moustache on ITV as part of the broadcaster’s coverage of Sunday’s World Cup final, and fans have been quick to praise the out-spoken Irish pundit.

Fans had been given the option of watching either BBC or ITV’s broadcast for the first time all tournament for the showpiece finale, although ITV had already made headlines after Clive Tyldesly opened up on his premature World Cup exit

And viewers wasted no time in taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the pundit’s new look, with one even poking fun at his on-air disagreements with colleague Graeme Souness

Keane had previously sported a very full beard throughout the tournament but has evidently decided on a change of tune for the showpiece spectacle.

He has drawn attention as he often does for his views this World Cup, notoriously criticising Brazil’s dancing celebrations against South Korea, as well as claiming that England need to find some ruthlessness in the wake of their quarter-final exit.

One viewer wrote: ‘Roy Keane debuting a moustache for the world cup final. Love that!’

Another added: ‘Extravagant choice of facial hair from Roy Keane here. Fitting for a World Cup final.’

And a third wrote: ‘ITV’s earlier start and Roy Keane’s new facial hair might give them the edge over BBC.’

One viewer took the opportunity to ask whether the new moustache could finally bring Keane and Souness together.

They wrote: ‘Do Roy Keane and Graeme Souness have shares in the same moustache?’

And lastly one fan clearly was not best pleased with Keane’s change of style, asking: ‘Did Roy Keane lose a bet or something?’
