England legend Alan Shearer has become the latest victim of British Airways’ baggage nightmare.
Shearer spent the duration of the World Cup in Qatar where he offered his insight as a BBC pundit. But much like Gareth Southgate‘s Three Lions, the 52-year-old has come home empty handed.
He took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal he still has not received his luggage since flying home from the middle-eastern country, having covered Sunday’s thrilling final between Argentina and France.

The ex-Newcastle United skipper tweeted: “That’s two and a half days home now. Shame my bag didn’t make it. @british_airways any danger?”
Shearer’s complaint was met with an apology from the airline, which insisted its staff are “doing their best to deliver all delayed baggage as soon as possible”.
Many British Airways passengers flying to or from Heathrow Airport in recent days have reported long delays in receiving their luggage, while some have said their bags have gone missing.

The problem has affected customers flying to a whole range of destinations such as Delhi, Dubai, Edinburgh, Los Angeles, Manchester and Porto.
British Airways said it sends delayed bags directly to passengers using the address they provide. And the airline tells customers they can submit claims to be reimbursed for “essential items such as toiletries and basics when a bag is delayed, up to a reasonable value”.

Meanwhile, Shearer made full use of his time in Qatar by keeping an eye out on the talent on show for his beloved Magpies. He claimed he would particularly like to see Argentina’s Young Player of the Tournament Enzo Fernandez at St. James’ Park.
After joking that he missed Shearer’s advice, manager Eddie Howe later responded by saying: “I’m aware of Enzo and I know him. But I think the transfer fee to sign him might be quite lumpy.”
