Paul Pogba’s brother released from jail but banned from contacting ex-Man Utd star

Paul Pogba’s brother Mathias has been released from prison but has been banned from contacting the Juventus star.

It comes after the 32-year-old was arrested and charged over an alleged extortion plot against his own brother. Mathias was arrested in September earlier this year and had been held in pre-trial custody since.

But his lawyer has since confirmed reports from Le Parisien that his client has been released – but there are some stringent terms as part of his freedom. It is claimed the terms of his release have also banned him from contacting brother Paul, as well as his own mum.

Mathias has also been restricted from leaving France and is not allowed to use any form of social media as he awaits trial. It ends three months of time in prison, after a request to be released was initially rejected in September.

The former Crawley star is one of five people who are under investigation and stems from a claim from Paul where he said he was the victim of an £11million blackmail plot. However, his older sibling has insisted he is innocent.

The forward, who played for his country of birth Guinea internationally, will not stay in Paris where he will remain at a family property. In August, he made a series of allegations against his brother in an astonishing video on social media.

Among the claims insisted that the former Manchester United star used a witch doctor to cast a spell on Kylian Mbappe ahead of the World Cup. Pogba missed a call-up to the France squad over the winter due to injury.

Les Bleus reached the final as Didier Deschamps looked to defend their World Cup crown only to fall at the last hurdle after losing to Argentina on penalties.
