Beyonce has an unlikely footballing relative according to former Denmark youth international Ryan Johnson Laursen – who is on the lookout for free tickets.
Laursen, who has played in Denmark since 2010, was actually born in California and says he is related to one of the most famous celebrities on the planet through his great-grandfather.
Now 30, the defender has reached out to the Single Ladies hitmaker through a local newspaper having explained the nature of their family connection.

He told Danish magazine Se og Hor this week: “It might sound far-fetched, but Beyonce is my great-grandfather’s brother’s granddaughter. So she is my mother’s grand-cousin and my great-grand cousin. When my great-grandfather died we lost contact.
“But my mother is still connected to their side of the family on Facebook, without having direct contact with Beyonce.
“Sadly I’ve never met her. It’s crazy, but I have never got any concert tickets or anything from her.”

Laursen, who played in Denmark’s top flight with Esbjerg and Odense BK following time with the international under 23 side, is out of contract at the weekend.
Laursen has a child with his long-term girlfriend and asked fans back in 2021 not to talk about his footballing career on her private Instagram account.
He has been playing for Sonderjyske since earlier this year, which is more than 3000 miles away from the Bel Air complex of Beyonce and Jay-Z.
The superstar couple, who have a combined net worth in excess of £1billion according to Forbes, tied the knot in 2008 and now share three children together.
Beyonce, 41, seems unlikely to reply to the interview of Laursen, with family trees having 16 great grandparents and they connection certainly not a strong one.
Although not many footballers can boast having megastars like Beyonce as relatives, some of the most notable inside the game include Mark Viduka and Luka Modric.
Also on that list could be Jay-Jay Okocha and Alex Iwobi, with Diego Maradona and Sergio Aguero once related though marriage.
