And now, Joan has shared another inspiring snap to her legion of fans.

Her caption read: “Here I stand, 6 years almost to the day from when I started this crazy, wonderful, eye-opening health transformation.

Joan also praised her personal trainer daughter for being on this journey with her.

She even told fans to keep an eye out for an announcement later this month.

To encourage others to kick-start their fitness journey, Joan shared a number of tips.

She explained: “1. To lose body fat you do need to eat less than you burn. So figure out how much food you are eating on average and cut back.

“2. If you want your body to burn off body fat and not muscle, make sure you train a few days a week consistently with heavy enough weight to be challenged. I like to see my heart rate really go up when I’m lifting weights.

“The last reps of every set are very hard to finish. Just be consistent and work hard.”

Joan also advised fans to eat more protein and avoid fads.

She concluded: “You can do it. If you want to join my app community, we have a new six-week challenge coming out in February with a Book Club.

“I never thought I’d be working so much in my later years, but it’s a labour of love that’s WORTH it!”

In the photo, Joan stood to the side as she previously weighed 188lbs (around 13st).

The second photo shows her at 133lbs (around 9st) in the post which racked up over 95,000 likes.

One fan wrote: “I love that you changed your life so much for the better at an older age… because it can feel like there is nothing left to accomplish for after 50.”
