National Lottery ‘must be won’ jackpot of £12million SHARED by two lucky ticket holders

Two lucky National Lottery players have each won themselves an incredible £6million sum tonight as the Lotto’s jackpot was a ‘must be won’ event.

The prize of £12million went to the unnamed pair of ticket holders on Saturday and was split evenly between the two tickets.

The winners can now afford lavish and luxury items like a low-end private jet, a smart Chelsea mansion or even a lower-league football club.

Another person bagged £1 million for matching five of six numbers and the bonus ball.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “What amazing news for two ticket-holders who are sharing tonight’s fantastic £12M Lotto ‘Must Be Won’ jackpot – each of these lucky winners has scooped an amazing £6M. Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call to claim these amazing prizes.

“Thanks to National Lottery players, £30M is generated every week for Good Causes across the country. This money supports projects across the nation, with a total of more than 670,000 grants – to projects both big and small – having been made across the UK to date.”

The winning Lotto numbers were 05, 08, 20, 23, 30, 50 and the bonus number was 25.

The Lancelot draw machine was used along with set of balls three.

Tonight’s Thunderball was also drawn and the winning numbers were 16, 20, 24, 32, 33, and 11.

One ticket holder is confirmed to have won a £500,000 prize.

Lucky Brits will have been hoping for their share of the prize, particularly after last night’s EuroMillions draw had a massive £47 million prize waiting for any would-be winners.

Tonight’s enormous prize is still tuny in comparison to the lucky Brits how won last year who won the country’s biggest ever EuroMillions total, a staggering £184,262,899.10.

Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, won the jaw-dropping total in May.

Joe said at the time: “I looked it up and saw we’d won. I saw how much and I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t go back to sleep, I didn’t want to wake Jess up so I just laid there for what seemed like forever.”

Jess added: “Our 2 children have always talked about going to Hawaii. I’ve no idea why, but we can now make that dream come true. Just to see their faces when we can make these things come true will be worth every penny.”
