Everton fans are fearing the club are using some underhand tactics in their appointment of Sean Dyche.
The former Burnley manager was widely reported to have been named as Frank Lampard’s replacement. Yet, despite the fact nearly 48 hours have passed and Dyche has been seen arriving at the training ground, there has been no official announcement from the club confirming the news.
With barely 36 hours of the transfer window left, the club is yet to make any new signings having already seen Anthony Gordon join Newcastle United in a deal believed to be worth £45million. But with no new players through the door and a manager who has not officially been confirmed, Everton supporters are beginning to get nervous.

Dyche has been spotted driving into Everton’s training ground on two occasions recently. Yet, there has still not been an official announcement from the Toffees’ hierarchy. Many fans are fearing an announcement has been delayed due to their lack of transfer activity. They are also beginning to think they may leave any announcement to the dying stages of the transfer window so they can excuse their lack of new signings on the fact Dyche’s appointment was not confirmed until late in the window.
“Anyone know why Sean Dyche keeps turning up at our training ground,” one fan sarcastically wrote on social media, before another added “what’s he there for? Anybody know?.” Another added, “they wouldn’t delay the Dyche announcement in case we don’t sign any players. Would they?”
“Everton hoping to delay Dyche until past transfer deadline to save money on new players,” said one other angry Toffee, before somebody else followed up with, “This delay in announcing Dyche appears to be a 100% deliberate attempt and excuse to allow the transfer window to close without buying a proper striker. Need a striker as much as a new manager and new board!”

Everton are currently languishing in 19th position in the Premier League. They thought they had completed the loan signing of Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma, but Tottenham Hotspur hijacked the move in the dying moments.
They also saw Marcelo Bielsa express doubts about the Everton squad and even reportedly ask to take over their U21s side instead so he can inherit the senior squad in the summer. However, such a move was impossible with Everton needing a new manager to lift them out of the relegation zone immediately.
They hope Dyche will be the man to do just that. All they need to do now is announce him.
