Middlesbrough offering £85 Valentine’s Day dining experience – in the changing room

Middlesbrough are offering their fans a Valentine’s Day dining experience… inside the home dressing room.

To celebrate the romantic festivities next month, the Championship club have announced their new dining experience for supporters at the Riverside Stadium next weekend. The promotion is set to run for two nights, with supporters able to purchase a table in the changing room on Friday February 10 and Saturday February 11.

In preparation for the experience, the dressing room is set to be turned into a private dining room, with the club promising “the room will be pristinely presented with mood lighting and music”.

Two sittings are available for each night at both 6pm and 8:15pm, with tables of two available for two hours at a price of £85 per person.

For that price, supporters will get a package which includes a glass of sparkling wine, bottle of beer or soft drink on arrival, a three-course meal provided by the club’s head chef and two photo opportunities pitchside and in the dressing room.

Each couple will also receive one fully personalised Boro third shirt that usually retails for £65 between them. Michael Carrick’s side are away at Cardiff City next weekend, leaving the dressing room free to be transformed for Valentine’s Day.

The club’s next match at the Riverside is not for two weeks, with a trip to Sheffield United on February 15 followed by a home clash against Queens Park Rangers three days later.

Middlesbrough have shot up the Championship table following Carrick’s appointment in October, his first permanent managerial role following spells as an assistant and caretaker boss at Manchester United.

He has since overseen 10 wins from his 14 league matches in charge, including six of the last seven after Saturday’s 3-0 home victory against Blackpool.

Having been 21st and just three points above the relegation zone when Carrick replaced Chris Wilder, Boro are now third in the table but remain 10 points adrift of the automatic promotion places.
