Weather forecasters have predicted that the UK could be blasted by yet more snow in March in an incredibly late polar blast.
The country has already seen widespread snow this year after flurries in January blanketed some regions with six inches of the white stuff.
Some weather modelling maps have indicated that more snow is set to come later this month, meaning March could make it three consecutive months of snow to kick-off 2023.

In their long-range forecast for February 27 to March 7, Netweather say that “wintry showers” are possible next month.

They explain that this will follow “two polar maritime incursions”.
According to the Met Office, this refers to blasts of cool air coming from Greenland or the Arctic Sea.
Despite this, Netweather says temperatures should actually be above average for this period.
Their forecast reads: “This period is expected to continue with high pressure generally close to or over the south and south-east of Britain for much of the time, continuing the generally mild and settled weather, with more changeable conditions affecting north-western Britain.

“However, as we head into March, temperatures may fall closer to normal for the time of year, with greater potential for frosts in the south and one or two polar maritime incursions in the north with wintry showers especially on high ground.
“Overall, temperatures are likely to be about 1C above normal for most of the country during this period, with most regions, especially the south and east, again coming out drier than average.
“Sunshine is likely to be above normal over much of England and Wales and eastern Scotland, but again Northern Ireland and the west of Scotland may end up rather cloudy.”
