Nicola Bulley’s mystery drink bottle could hold answers to her disappearance

A drinks bottle used by missing mum Nicola Bulley could hold key information about her disappearance.

Nicola, 45, was walking her dog when she went missing on Friday, January 27, near the River Wyre in Lancashire.

She had dropped her children off at school that morning before taking the family pup, Willow, on a walk.

The mum, whose phone was found at the scene of her disappearance and logged into a work conference on Teams, is believed to have approached the river.

Expert diving teams were called in by Lancashire Police on Sunday (February 5), run by forensics expert Peter Faulding and his Specialist Group International, to search the riverbed, but the search has so far revealed nothing.

CCTV images of Nicola show her holding a bottle

Mr Faulding earlier claimed the mobile phone finding could have been a “decoy”, while also stating that he “can’t get my head around” her disappearance.

And it now appears a bottle that Ms Bulley was seen holding on CCTV footage could prove vital – if it can be found.

The bottle was also spotted on doorbell camera images of Nicola released by her friends over the weekend.

According to a member of the largest Facebook group of internet sleuths trying to find her – called Help Find Nicola Bulley – it would have “her DNA on it”.

A member of the 12.5k-strong group said: “I saw on the CCTV footage of Nicola holding a drinks bottle. Was that bottle left in the car or did she take it on the walk with her.

“If so has there been any searches in waste bins or ground searches done.

“This won’t be just any bottle, rather a bottle with Nicolas DNA on it.”

Lancashire Police has not commented on the bottle or its whereabouts, but the Daily Star has contacted them for a comment, as well as for a list of other items found during the search belonging to the missing 45-year-old.
