Valentine’s Day to be a flop as only 14% of Brits will have an orgasm

It may be considered the day of love, but it looks like Valentine’s Day will be lacking sauce this year.

This is because many Brits will be having a sex-free Valentine’s Day, with only 10% saying they will definitely have an orgasm with their partner on February 14.

According to Durex, as few as 6% also admitted they will be indulging in a little self-pleasure.

When it comes to what’s preventing people to make an O-ccasion of the day, planned sex and sexually unadventurous partners are cited as reasons for some.

Of those in a relationship, but not planning on having an orgasm with their partner, around one in ten (11%) admit planned sexual activity isn’t exciting.

This is especially the case for 18 to 24 year olds, with nearly a fifth (18%) giving it as a reason.

In addition, nearly one in ten of all adults (9%) say they won’t orgasm with a partner as their partner is not sexually adventurous enough.

But, even though people don’t seem to be keen on getting saucy, the gift of an orgasm for Valentine’s Day tops the list for many over traditional gifts such as chocolate or fragrance.

Almost a sixth (15%) cite an orgasm as one of the gifts they’d most like to receive, rising to a quarter (25%) for 25 to 34 year olds and even 5% of over 75 year olds want to get in on the action.

To help people spice up the big day Durex is on a mission to help people unleash the freedom to be their true sexual self, and is looking to help people have an orgasmic Valentine’s Day.

It has partnered with LADYGARDEN to create the DUREX X LADYGARDEN Pleasure Bouquet.

With flowers being a preferred gift for 17%, this bouquet comes complete with Durex Play lubes and a vibrator to help hit the spot.

The bouquet combines the ultimate symbols of sensuality and sexuality with firetruck red Nina roses, gypsophila, scabious and anemones along with Durex lube and a vibrator in a bright and punchy bouquet.

Durex products were chosen as the research also showed that of those planning Valentine’s Day sexual activity some would like to experiment with lube (tingling lube 8%, flavoured lube 6%) and vibrators (13%).

It’s launching as a trial in London as it is one of the cities where the most people would like the gift of an orgasm (19%) for Valentine’s Day.

Marcella Christophersen, Senior Brand Manager for Durex, said: “We want to help everyone up the odds of having an orgasm this Valentine’s Day whether on their own or with a partner/partners.

“Especially as we saw a male female divide with a third (33%) more men than women saying they’ll definitely have an orgasm.

“We want to help make the day orgasmic for as many people as possible and our DUREX X LADYGARDEN Pleasure Bouquet can help with this.

“It can add a bit of excitement for those that are all in for an orgasmic Valentine’s Day or add a bit of spice for those that feel planned sex isn’t exciting or their sex life could do with spicing up.”

The Durex bouquet is also a great option for those who want to self-gift on Valentine’s day, as nearly one in six (15%) said an orgasm is one of their favourite ways to self-love, putting it above massages (11%), beauty treatments (10%) and even an indulgent dinner (9%).

You can order a bouquet online for the price of £50.
