Perhaps not looking his best, this particular rendition of the beloved alien sits in a pool of its own juices at is tenderises in the oven.

An administrator for the NHS, she grabbed a snap of the face, posting it online with the caption: “My Sunday lunch, what do you see?”

She said: “I was cooking a half leg of lamb and I took the foil off halfway through cooking.

“I noticed the face and so I put it on social media but never thought I would have such a response.

“The whole lamb looks like E.T., some of the comments are so funny.

Karen said she found the whole thing hilarious

“It’s a good job that I’ve got thick skin as some of the comments are rude about my cooking but I do realise it’s mostly tongue-in-cheek.

“The lamb was delicious to be honest.”

People responded accordingly, offering a bit of wit about Karen’s find.

One said: “If E.T. hadn’t gone home.”

Another added:: “E.T. phone home.”

“E.T. didn’t go home after all,” a third chimed in.

The slightly disturbing picture has since received almost 1,000 comments and hundreds of shares online.
