Two men are stabbed to death in separate attacks as London is gripped by another night of terrifying knife crime

Two men have been stabbed to death in separate attacks in east and south London as another grim night of knife crime gripped the city.
Police were called in the early hours of Saturday morning in relation to both attacks and despite the efforts of medics, the two men later died of their stab wounds in hospital.
This comes after it was revealed that the number of fatal stabbings in England and Wales is at the highest level since records began in 1946.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to an east London hospital at around 4.30am this morning where two men, aged 24 and 26, had turned up with knife wounds.
The 26-year-old man died of his injuries in hospital while officers are still awaiting a formal assessment of the condition of the 24-year-old.

Police were called to an east London hospital at around 4.30am on Saturday morning where two men turned up with knife wounds
Both men were stabbed in the area of White Post Lane, Hackney Wick.
The family of the 26-year-old has been informed of his death and formal identification will take place along with a post-mortem examination.
No arrests have been made yet.
In South London, the Metropolitan Police said officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at around 1.30am to a critically injured man at a flat in Hicken Road, Lambeth.
After being taken to the hospital, the man aged in his 50s later died.
Officers are in the process of informing his family.
An urgent investigation is underway and one man, also aged in his 50s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He has been taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.
The Met is appealing for information and any witnesses to contact the police.
