Infamous anonymous graffiti artist Banksy has struck another UK town with his daubings – and it has angered a local council.
Banksy is known for poignant work painted onto buildings through the country, which he usually paints in the dead of night without anything ever seeing him or finding out his identity.
And his latest images on a wall in Margate, created for Valentine’s Day, shine a light on issues surrounding domestic violence.

The artwork, which he posted images of on Instagram, shows a woman in a 50s-era dress after she has supposedly thrown her husband in a fridge freezer that has been placed strategically in front of the wall.
The woman is complete with a kitchen apron and rubber gloves, but her smile is missing a tooth and she is winking from a battered and bruised eye.

Her other half is only visible by his legs that are dangling out of the kitchen appliance – however, this was removed shortly after by the local council.
Thanet Council collection workers quickly removed the broken freezer, which has sparked outrage from one shadow council member.
Labour councillor Barry Lewis, who represents Margate, told local news outlets: “It’s a disgrace.
“This brought international acclaim to Margate and within hours Thanet council has destroyed a valuable asset to the town.
“The council leader should resign.”
The Daily Star has reached out to Barry, and council leader Cllr Ash Ashbee for a comment.

The image of the painting posted on Instagram by Banksy was called “Valentine’s Day Mascara”.
The title is a play on the infamous prohibition-era Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre in 1929, when seven members and associates of Chicago’s North Side Gang were gunned down.
Many have taken to social media to suggest his latest work is shedding light on the issue of domestic violence against women.

According to the Office for National Statistics: “In the year ending March 2020, the Crime Survey for England and Wales estimated 1.6 million women aged 16 to 74 years in England and Wales experienced domestic abuse, around 7 per cent of the female population.”
Banksy has used Kent buildings as his canvas on more than one occasion – recently in other seaside towns such as Folkestone and Dover.
