Prince Andrew fears eviction from £30m Windsor home as he considers US move

Disgraced Prince Andrew has privately admitted to close friends that he fears his brother King Charles III is trying to force him out of his £30 million Windsor home by cutting his annual grant.

The furious Duke of York, 63, moaned to his inner circle that because of how expensive it is to maintain the 30-room Royal Lodge, he will likely have to move out by September.

He reportedly added that his grant may be cut off as early as April, and is considering a move to the States to chase after financial opportunities, as Harry and Meghan did.

The Duke was forced to rely on private funds from the royal family after he stopped receiving public money when he stepped down from Royal duties in 2019 following accusations of sexual assault, which he continues to deny.

Instead, the late Queen Elizabeth II supported him with private funds to the tune of £249,000 a year.

The money came from income generated by the Duchy of Lancaster, private lands now owned by King Charles that generate around £24 million a year for the royal family.

The Daily Mail reported that King Charles has told all members of the royal family to expect less money from the Duchy of Lancaster.

While all royals have been affected by Charles’ decision, Prince Andrew’s inner circle feel that he’s being targeted as his only other source of income is a “small” Navy pension.

But despite Andrew’s moaning, Charles is believed to have guaranteed him an income and a home.

He’s also understood to have agreed to pay privately for the Duke’s security, estimated at about £3 million a year, after his team of Scotland Yard protection officers was axed by the Home Office.

One friend told the Daily Mail: “It feels as though his brother wishes to evict him”.

Another source said: “He’s not being explicitly kicked out but it’s expected that he won’t be able to afford the maintenance.

“Royal Lodge has a swimming pool, 98 acres of land and is already in need of some repair”, they added.

Charles’ decision to wean the royals off the funds from the Duchy of Lancaster comes after Andrew has already spent millions of dollars on lawsuits and a no-fault settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of raping her while she was 17.
