Men are so horny they have up to 10 erections a day – even when they sleep

Men get pretty horny – and it’s not a big secret.

It’s not a stereotype – it just turns out they find it pretty hard to control themselves most days as sex often appears to be on the brain.

A doctor revealed blokes have up to 10 erections in one day, and they even get turned on while they’re fast asleep.

So, if you see a bloke getting pretty excited, it turns out it’s actually quite normal.

According to Dr Hana Patel, Superdrug Online Doctor, most men get erect between six and 10 times per day.

She told Metro: “On average, men will experience full erections between three to five times during a full night’s sleep.

“This is doubled during the day.”

But Dr Patel said every person is different, and the number of times men experience it really depends on the person.

She said there is no “one size fits all” answer, so if you experience less than this, it’s probably nothing to worry about.

“This will differ on a daily basis, and from man to man depending on age, hormone levels and lifestyle,” she added.

“Smoking, alcohol and lack of quality sleep can reduce the number of erections you experience over a 24-hour period.”

The expert said you don’t need to compare yourself to others, and people shouldn’t rely on social media to get answers.

There’s a lot of misinformation online, and you shouldn’t worry about what people think is “normal”.

Instead she said the only time you should raise concern is if there is a drastic change in your erections.

This could vary from them not being as hard to not lasting very long or if you have issues ejaculating.

If these sorts of things occur then it’s best to seek medical help.

There is also potential for such changes to be linked to sexually transmitted diseases, so it’s important to get checked out.

Sometimes if you have any worries about your libido Dr Patel said chatting to a medical professional can help a lot.

The doctor also noted it’s normal for people to lose some interest in sex with age, and this is normally linked to a dip in hormones such as testosterone and other age-related issues.
