Leicester City fans have voiced their support for Gary Lineker after the axed BBC star turned up for their game against Chelsea.
Lineker, who had until yesterday afternoon been scheduled to host the BBC’s flagship football programme Match of the Day, was spotted at the King Power Stadium after a tumultuous 24 hours.
The England legend appeared overwhelmed as fans of the club he has supported since he was a boy sang his name, which rang around the ground.

Lineker has been in the spotlight ever since his controversial tweet comparing the government’s immigration policy to 1930s Nazi Germany blew up earlier this week.
After initially looking set to host Match of the Day as normal on Saturday, the broadcaster was dropped out of the blue on Friday evening.
That sparked a huge backlash from the presenter’s colleagues, including Alan Shearer, Ian Wright, Alex Scott and Micah Richards, all of whom confirmed they would also not appear on the programme.
After his suspension was confirmed, a statement from the BBC Said, “”When it comes to leading our football and sports coverage, Gary is second to none.
“We have never said that Gary should be an opinion free zone, or that he can’t have a view on issues that matter to him.
“But we have said that he should keep well away from taking sides on party political issues or political controversies.”
