Boris Johnson and disgraced sexual predator Trump meet for dinner to discuss war

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had dinner with former US President Donald Trump at one of his golf clubs.

In the week it emerged that Johnson could face further police investigations over his lockdown rule-breaking, he joined now disgraced Trump at the Trump National golf club outside Washington, US, on Thursday.

A few weeks ago, Trump was found guilty of sexual abuse., marking the first time a US president has been legally branded a sexual predator.

A jury in New York found that the former president sexually abused magazine writer E Jean Carroll in the 1990s and then defamed her by branding her a liar.

Meanwhile the former prime minister is facing further investigation over alleged breaches of Covid lockdown rules, having already been fined over illegal gatherings in No10 during the height of the pandemic.

Following being ousted from office last year, Johnson has been touring America to try and rally support among top Republicans for Ukraine in the wake of Russia’s invasion.

A spokesman for Johnson said that the discussions between the pair were focused on Ukraine: “Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP met President Donald J Trump to discuss the situation in Ukraine and the vital importance of Ukrainian victory.”

Both men were previously in office at the same time and had a complex relationship.

Trump described Johnson as a “friend” and once branded him “Britain Trump.”

But last month, Trump told GB News last month that he believed Johnson’s government had taken a “far left” tilt.

An outlier among many other Westerners, Trump has suggested that the United States is giving too much military aid to war-torn Ukraine.

He said: “We’re giving away so much equipment, we don’t have ammunition for ourselves right now.”

He has also controversially called President Putin a smart guy who has made a tremendous mistake.

The US has committed $46.65bn of arms and equipment to Ukraine over the past year, making it the largest donor of military aid to the country, followed by the UK, which has committed $7.16bn.

Johnson also met George W Bush, another former president, Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, and Mike Pompeo, who was Trump’s secretary of state on his trip this week.
