Gym guru explains how to get ‘bikini ready’ – and there’s no dieting involved

With holiday season in full swing many women are trying to get “bikini ready”.

Although everyone deserves to feel confident in swimwear – no matter what their size or shape – it’s normal to want to hit the beach feeling good.

But one fitness influencer said you don’t need to diet your way to success, as there are better ways to reach your goals.

Lizzy High, 22, from North London, is more commonly known as Liz Bites Back to her 110,000 Instagram followers.

The online coach is known for helping people to get fit without restrictions – and this is why she so openly talks about the importance of enjoying food.

She said the key to looking good in a bikini this year is “fuelling your body with amazing food”.

In a defiant post, Lizzy told people they don’t need to lose weight quickly for summer.

She also said people shouldn’t turn to low calorie diets or cut out “bad foods” to achieve success, as it simply doesn’t work.

Instead, Lizzy said it’s all about creating “sustainable methods”, and adopting “healthier habits”.

She told her followers that confidence is a mindset opposed to a body type, and this is what people need to remember.

Opening up about the topic on Instagram, she said: “DON’T KNOW WHO NEEDS TO HEAR THIS BUT cutting out food groups, eating as little as possible, exercising to burn as many cals as possible, treating your body badly to look a certain way is NOT the answer to feeling your best this summer.

“In fact, it will push you further away from your goals.

“As someone who used to go to extremes every summer, I can confirm it will make you tried, your body image gets worse and you will end up putting all the weight back on.”

“Instead workout to celebrate what your body can do and to feel good, focus on counting memories rather counting how little calories you can eat,” she added.

“Create sustainable methods for sustainable results and if you don’t want to change your body summer that’s fine! You need to do what’s best for you.”

Since she opened up about dieting, many people have liked the post, and several people commented too.

Lizzy’s followers thanked for her speaking so honestly about body image, and they told her they “love” the message she puts out there.

One person commented: “Great post girl, keep smashing it lovely.”

Another added: “Speak the truth.”

A third also wrote: “Eat protein more than calories, eat grain carbs, drink so much water and lightly exercise, walk, jog, plank and you’ll be fine.”
