Pop-up pub offers FREE booze and food for one day only to promote local produce

A pop-up pub with a difference is set to open for one day only – serving food and drink for FREE.

The boozer, called The Local, will offer a variety of tasty dishes and delicious beverages, without asking for a penny in return.

Every dish served at the pub will be made using ingredients sourced within 40 miles of the venue.

The aim is to highlight the fact that locally sourced ingredients lead to better-tasting results.

Inch’s Cider, which sources its apples from within 40 miles of its mill at Commonwood Farm, in the beautiful Teme Valley, Worcestershire, is partnering with online culinary sensation MOB to host The Local.

Totally free of charge, The Local will open on Saturday July 8, serving pints of refreshing Inch’s Cider as well as a tasty snack cooked and created by none other than MOB’s popular food producer Ben Lippett.

The Local will serve dishes sourced within 40 miles of the venue – and Inch’s Cider

Situated at Iron Bloom in trendy east London’s Shoreditch, lucky guests will be able to tuck into a delicious menu inspired by incredible, unfussy products that pack a flavoursome punch, sourced from Ben’s favourite suppliers in and around the capital.

Dishes being served include smoked trout pate, caraway waffle and cucumber, kappacesein raclette croquette, braised plantation pig with lime and mayo, Cobble Lane Islington saucisson, bread and butter pickles with wholegrain mustard, all washed down a cold Inch’s Cider.

Or for those fancying something a little spicier, a bespoke Inch’s mezcal margarita made with chillies from urban gardener, forager and London-based influencer Spicy Moustache’s very own garden will also be available.

Open for just one day only, guests are encouraged to act fast to avoid missing the chance to sample this exclusive menu.

The Local will be located at Iron Bloom, 46 Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch, London. It will open at 12.30pm on Saturday July 8.

Walk-in spaces are available on the day on a first come first served basis.
