Elon Musk trains with UFC icon for Zuckerberg fight as Twitter chaos continues

Elon Musk looks to be taking the possible bout against Mark Zuckerberg seriously as he was seen training with ex-UFC two-division champion, Georges St-Pierre.

The Twitter chief made the offer of a cage match to the Facebook founder after tweeting: “Up for a cage match” to which, Zuckerberg replied: “Send me location”.

After negotiations with UFC president Dana White who said he spoke to both men who are up for the blockbuster bout, nothing yet has officially been agreed.

While Zuckerberg is known to train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and recently won medals in a tournament, Musk claimed to “almost never worked out” prior to laying the gauntlet at his rival’s feet.

However, that may have changed after he was snapped alongside UFC Hall of Famer, George St Pierre.

The pair were joined by the Canadian’s long-time coach, John Danaher, and podcaster Lex Fridman, with the latter posting the picture on Twitter on Monday (July 3).

Fridman captioned the post: “Had a great training session with Elon Musk, Georges St-Pierre, and John Danaher last night, everything about this was epic!”

Musk replied back: ““Really fun!” The obvious conclusion is that I need a *lot* more training.”

Fridman, who holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, said that he was “extremely impressed” with his “strength, power, and skill, on the feet and on the ground”.

Javier Mendez, who is the head coach of UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, recently predicted that the 39-year-old would triumph due to his training and being “more of a dog” than Musk.

“The big advantage Zuckerberg has over Elon is that he’s actively training and he’s more of a dog right now, because he entered a jiu-jitsu tournament, so that tells me a lot about him,” he said.

“All things considered, Zuckerberg is way ahead of Musk, but you won’t really know until you see what Musk possesses.

According to MMA head coach, Javier Mendez, Zuckerberg has the upper hand over Musk

“I would want Musk to think about ways to prevent takedowns. But you can’t avoid a takedown just by trying to avoid it; you have to avoid it by striking.”

The 51-year-old has been in hot water this week after worldwide troubles with Twitter as many criticised his decision to cap the number of tweets viewers can see per day.

The temporary measure caused furore across the internet with Musk revealing the decision to do so was because of “extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation” on the social media platform.
