Rishi Sunak mentioned he is been enjoying Christmas songs for greater than two weeks – and mentioned Fairytale of New York is a key monitor on his playlist.
Asked if he was a fan of the Pogues following the dying of frontman Shane MacGowan, the PM spoke about his love of festive music. He instructed reporters on the flight to Dubai for the COP28 local weather summit: “Well, I’m a fan of Christmas music generally, which is the primary music clearly of his I do know.
“I’m a large fan of Christmas music… somebody outed me on that after I was Chancellor as a result of they unintentionally walked in on me singing Michael Buble prematurely of some interview, I keep in mind.

He mentioned he has already signed 1000’s of Christmas playing cards, and has festive music enjoying as he does so. On prime of that, a Christmas market was held in Downing Street on Friday.
The PM mentioned: “So I sign all these cards and I do it in the night, and basically that is my time, I put the Christmas music on and I just sit there and sign away, and I’ve been doing that for about 10 days already.”
Asked what number of playing cards he indicators every year, he mentioned the quantity runs into the 1000’s and continued: “I called my mum last year when I did it and I said, ‘Thank God you named me a name that only has five letters in it.’
