Fans have been left questioning if Unai Emery was having his chin stroked by a reporter after Aston Villa’s dramatic defeat at Manchester United.
Emery’s aspect missed the prospect to go degree on factors with Premier League leaders Liverpool as they surrendered a 2-0 lead because of an unlikely fightback from the Red Devils. Following an excellent season up to now, Villa’s progress has been checked barely after taking only one level from their final two video games.

“Someone said it looks like the reporters feeling his chin and I can’t unsee it,” posted one on X (previously Twitter). Another noticed: “I’ll give you that, he’s certainly stroking the chin with an unnatural amount of reps.”
A 3rd fan stated: “Every time I see this, I’m imagining someone out of shot underneath stroking Emery’s chin for him. Soothing him after a loss.” Given the marginally awkward begin to the interview, it’s unlikely the reporter had resorted to placing his hand on his interviewee’s face.

He later stated: “Move on, be demanding. I told the players that the first part of the season was fantastic but I want more. If they want more we have to work hard to get it.
“My mentality now is to focus on Saturday [at home to Burnley] and prepare the match as well as possible. We want to be better tomorrow than today.”
