Following the cat’s rescue after the jail break – in which 10 guards and four prisoners died, and 25 inmates escaped – he was finally adopted by a Texas family, reports KTSM 9, but the identity of the family wasn’t revealed.

Mexican soldiers were deployed to the prison after gunmen arrived in bulletproof vehicles at 7am to attack security personnel, the attorney general’s office said.
