America is the world’s largest natural-gas producer, however New Englanders’ capability to remain heat in winter might hinge on the destiny of an costly, 53-year-old import plant that its proprietor has threatened to close down.
Constellation Energy plans to retire a Massachusetts energy plant on the finish of May. That will eradicate the largest person of the liquefied pure fuel, or LNG, that’s imported via the corporate’s neighboring Everett Marine Terminal. Constellation mentioned it’s attempting to line up new fuel patrons to maintain the terminal working. If it can’t, it would probably shut the import facility as nicely.
