Defending Hughes, of Gateacre Court, Ellesmore Port, Maria Masselis stated: “She was operating a graft phone on behalf of those who can only be higher up the chain of drug supply than she was. Sentencing, Judge Simon Berkson advised the pair: “You were both involved in supplying drugs and addicted to drugs. You know better than most people how drugs ruin people’s lives.”

After the sentencing, DC Roy Wellings of Cheshire Police stated: “This is one of many convictions we have secured to tackle illegal drug dealing in Ellesmere Port and we will continue our efforts to rid the streets of drugs to make our communities safer.”
