‘Bad loser’ Ali Carter refuses to put on medal from Ronnie O’Sullivan Masters loss

Ali Carter divided snooker followers by initially refusing to put on his runner’s up medal after shedding to Ronnie O’Sullivan in The Masters last.

Carter, 44, watched a 3 body lead slip away as O’Sullivan got here from behind to win the Masters and the £250,000 prize. The World no.10 managed to amass a 6-3 lead over the Rocket and seemed on the right track to win at Alexandra Palace.

“Before I rocked up here I would’ve taken the final but I’ve got good things to come for me and I’m heading in the right direction. Ronnie played very well, he missed a few at the end and the crowd got excited.

“When you play Ronnie you must play the group, you must settle for it. I did my greatest nevertheless it simply wasn’t ok.”
