Jim Dale, Senior Meteorological Consultant at British Weather Services, instructed the Daily Star temperatures ought to begin bettering on Saturday (January 20) earlier than rising once more on Sunday (January 21). Southern areas may even see 15C, though additional north fierce wind and rain look to be on the playing cards.

Mr Dale mentioned: “The sea change will start getting underway on Saturday. Saturday’s still a cold day, cold in most places, the breeze will pick up but it’s a breeze from the south – and there’s a front coming in. That front has got rain on in. There might be some snow, especially on the high ground, but I think that will turn quite heavily to rain.

“Saturday’s the transition day, Sunday’s the true deal so far as rain and wind is worried. The Met Office has acquired yellow warnings out – I feel that is the suitable step… It’s principally western components of the UK so Northern Ireland, Wales, south-west England, north-west England, a lot of Scotland.”

“Those south/south-westerly winds will drag air again in from the Bay of Biscay. That’s a heat course, and you’ll really feel the distinction. It might be like chalk and cheese so far as temperatures are involved. I’m not going to say t-shirt climate, that’s most likely a bit far, but it surely’ll really feel so totally different.”
