Moment ‘daft’ motorist is caught driving down Glasgow cycle lane

This is the second a ‘daft’ motorist was caught driving down considered one of Glasgow ‘s devoted cycle lanes to navigate the busy metropolis streets.

The driver of a purple Vauxhall Corsa was noticed cruising down the cycle lane in Gorbals Street on Wednesday, which is separated from the lanes of site visitors by way of a strip of pavement.

The footage was shared to social media yesterday by the unnamed bicycle owner with the caption: ‘Get a load of this walloper driving down the cycle lane on Gorbals St.’ 

The bicycle owner that recorded the incident claims that the motorist behind the wheel of the Corsa was travelling at speeds of 30mph down the cycle lane, including to the hazard.

The bicycle owner later added: ‘Not actually certain how the motive force missed the markings, however I noticed them shoot into there from the junction at like 30mph simply earlier than I joined on.

‘Not actually certain if this must be reported or not.’

The clip has since gained dozens of likes and feedback from customers shocked by the disorientated driver’s egocentric actions.

The purple automotive was recorded driving down the two-way bike lane by a bicycle owner who posted the video on social media 

A fifth claimed: ‘I’ve seen this loads on this cycle lane. It’s a badly laid out junction.

The incident has not been reported to the police, however Glasgow City Council instructed it might convey the video to Police Scotland’s consideration.  

A spokesman for Glasgow City Council stated: ‘The driving highlighted on this video is a matter for the police.

‘This route on Gorbals Street is clearly marked as a cycle lane.’
