A snooker referee has sparked controversy after she gave a foul for an incident she did not see.
The second in query occurred throughout Stuart Bingham’s World Open qualifying match with Ishpreet Singh Chadha on Wednesday (January 24). They had been locked at three frames apiece on the Barnsley Metrodome.
Chadha was lining up the black when he brushed the cue ball by chance. Watching on from his seat on the aspect, Bingham alerted the match referee to the foul.

While she wasn’t in view, cameras picked up her communications with the gamers. She requested Chadha: “Did you?” She then turned to Bingham and stated: “If you’re sure, I didn’t see it.”

Chadha, ranked 96th on the planet standings, went on to defeat twenty sixth seed Bingham 5-3 to guide his place within the match finals in March.
