Rise of the mocktail and no-alcohol pints as Brits undertake ‘flexi-sober’ way of life

More than a fifth of us reported sticking to zero or low-alcohol drinks on some events earlier than reverting to conventional full-strength tipples at different occasions. The pattern echoes the eating habits of so-called flexitarians, who ditch being a vegetarian to wolf down meat or fish if the flamboyant takes them.

Half of drinkers have ordered a booze-free mocktail – a 15% year-on-year improve – and greater than two in 5 have supped a low or no-alcohol beer up to now 12 months. And multiple in 10 have dabbled with zero and low-booze options to cider, wine and spirits.
