A struggling Aldi shopper was left on the verge of tears after a kind-hearted worker stepped in to assist them.
The low cost grocery store shared the heartwarming story on their Facebook web page, praising retailer assistant Lisa for going above and past to assist a buyer named Joe in Cannock, Staffordshire.
Joe had been having a tough time and was near tears when he realised he did not have sufficient change to pay for his purchasing. But Lisa would not let him depart with out his groceries, so she kindly paid the remaining.

Aldi shared the story on Facebook, in keeping with The Mirror, saying: “Today’s customer story is all about our lovely Store Assistant, Lisa, from our Cannock store. Local customer Joe had been having a tough time recently, dealing with illness and the loss of a loved one. As such, leaving the house had become quite difficult.”
“On a trip to the Cannock branch for the weekly shop, Joe had accidentally forgotten their bank card. Their change wasn’t quite enough to cover it but Lisa wouldn’t let them go without! She kindly offered to cover the rest so that Joe could get everything needed.”
Aldi shared a heartfelt message from Joe, who mentioned Lisa’s act of kindness “meant the world” to him. He mentioned: “I was in a bit of a state and I didn’t want to burst into tears so I’m not sure I even said thank you, but it honestly meant the world to me. It only takes one act of kindness to help someone in need and you never know how much someone is struggling. I think this lady knew.”
After Aldi posted the touching story, greater than 200 individuals praised Lisa for her kindness, together with Joe, who additionally thanked Aldi for sharing his story.
Joe commented: “Oh this is amazing! Thank you so much for acknowledging Lisa. Honestly, kindness is lacking in this world nowadays and people forget it’s kindness that gets people like me who are struggling through the very dark days. It’s so lovely to see this post, well done for appreciating your staff.”
