Police are investigating an ‘tried abduction’ after a person reportedly jumped out the again of a van and ‘grabbed at’ a baby in Stoke-on-Trent on Monday. A bunch of pals have been strolling in Sandon Road, Meir, when a white Transit van approached near the roundabout.
A passenger within the car is then stated to have gotten out and took maintain of a boy described as being in his early teenagers. But Staffordshire Police say the group managed to run off unhurt.

Now officers investigating the incident – which occurred at round 4pm yesterday (February 12) – are interesting for witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage.
Sharing particulars of the incident on social media, a relative of the sufferer issued a warning following what they described as an ‘tried abduction’. They wrote: “The boy and his friends were approached by a white male who tried to snatch them into a white Transit van.
“The male was not the motive force – this man received out of the again of the van and tried to grab them. This occurred by the A50 on the bus cease (in direction of KFC) and so they fortunately managed to flee and received safely to the Meir Health Centre.”
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We are interesting for info following studies {that a} man tried to seize a boy in Stoke-on-Trent. The boy, in his early-teens, was strolling with a bunch of pals alongside Sandon Road, in Meir, at 4pm, yesterday, (Monday 12 February). The group was approached by a white Transit van.”
“The passenger got out of the vehicle and grabbed at one of the group. The children then ran off. Fortunately no-one was injured. Anyone who saw what happened, or those with CCTV or dashcam footage of the area, is urged to get in touch.”
