Ronnie O’Sullivan tells snooker star to think about profession change in brutal putdown

Ronnie O’Sullivan brutally suggested snooker star John Astley to think about a profession change as he tore into his recreation.

Astley, ranked 78th on this planet, misplaced his Welsh Open qualifying match in opposition to Mark Williams on Monday (February 12). The rating was stage when he missed a shot on the closing crimson.

O’Sullivan, who’s pulled out of the match on account of stage fright, was requested what he would’ve achieved in that place – and he did not maintain again after explaining how he’d have performed it.

‘The Rocket’ argued: “He ain’t got a snooker brain really, has he? That’s what it is. Some people are good at maths, some people are good at English, some people just have a snooker brain.

“Some folks simply do not play the appropriate shot, they usually’ll by no means play the appropriate shot as a result of their mind does not suppose like a snooker participant.

“There’s a lot of fantastic players over the years that haven’t really, you’d be surprised, there’s some top five players, I won’t say names, that I don’t think have a snooker brain but they have such good technique that they can get away with it.

“He has neither. He don’t have good technique and he don’t even have a snooker brain, so he’s just going to make 30s, 40s, missed balls and never do anything really.

“It’s unlucky, however you have to have one of many two. If you’ve got acquired neither then perhaps it is time to discover one thing else to do.” As he typically does, O’Sullivan divided opinion together with his feedback.

While many followers felt he was solely telling the reality, others felt it was hypocritical of him to publicly tear down Astley having spoke about his personal psychological well being struggles. The 35-year-old has struggled for kind this season, together with his final professional victory coming all the best way again in September.
