Raj Binder stated: “All these pieces of wood and drawers start falling out onto the road. There was a woman with a child behind the lorry who narrowly avoided it all falling onto her car.
“She received out and helped me clear the street of every little thing. I shouted to the driving force however the lorry is loud so he could not hear me, and carried on driving.
“It was only when the door slammed into the lamppost he realised something was wrong.
“It would have been unthinkable of what would have occurred to these on the bus cease, if that lamppost wasn’t there.”
Mr Binder said the near miss happened shortly before midday on Monday and after realising the doors were open the driver got out, locked them up and left shortly after.
