Thomas Frank hit again at his personal supporters after being irked by Brentford boos through the draw with Chelsea.
The struggling Bees trailed to a Nicolas Jackson header with some house followers making their emotions clear at half-time with boos. Those jeers turned to cheers as Mads Roerslev’s close-range strike made it 1-1 5 minutes after half-time.
Yoane Wissa’s spectacular overhead kick on 69 minutes then gave the Bees the lead, just for Axel Disasi to rescue some extent for the beleaguered Blues, whose followers have been busy ripping into co-owner Todd Boehly and head coach Mauricio Pochettino. Frank addressed the Bees boos after the ultimate whistle and admitted he was greatly surprised by the response of some house followers, though he did reward their response after the targets.

“I’d like to personally speak to the ones who booed. Is that support?” stated the Dane. “We’re talking about Brentford against Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, while we’re 1-0 down. I know I can’t swear but what the…?”
Frank additionally stated: “Three years ago, when we got promoted Chelsea won the Champions League, and I think they have renewed their squad since then. We had seven players out injured, they had a full squad, and we battered them in the second half. This was a proper Brentford performance.”

Some followers defended the boos although. One stated: “Only reason I didn’t boo was because I’d had enough and got a pint. Needs to worry about how he sets up his team to play like they did.” Another identified: “Brentford have lost 12 of their last 16 Premier League games!”
Meanwhile, shocked Chelsea followers questioned whether or not the boos Frank was referring to really emanated from the away part.
One suggested: “I mean, is he sure it wasn’t Chelsea fans booing Pochettino? He should check first.” Another requested: “Was he talking about Chelsea fans?”
Meanwhile, a Tottenham fan mused: “A lot of fans from other teams could do with reflecting on this. Football culture in the UK has become far too accommodating of this kind of negativity.”
