An enormous fireplace has led to some 100 folks being evacuated from their houses in Edinburgh.
The huge blaze ripped by a block of flats. According to experiences, round 45 firefighters had been on the scene trying to sort out the blaze at Breadalbane Road with 9 engines dispatched following the alarm being raised at 04:10 on March 14 within the effort to quell the inferno, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) mentioned.
At the time of writing, there are not any experiences of any accidents. Taking to X, previously often known as Twitter, Police Scotland mentioned: “We are in attendance at a fire at a block of flats in Breadalbane Road in Edinburgh. Emergency services were called to the scene around 4.35am on Thursday, 14 March, 2024.

“Approximately 100 native residents have been evacuated and a police cordon is in place.”
According to the BBC, resident Harry Williams said around 150 people were left sheltering out on the street. He said: “The fire alarm went off at about 04:00 and the fire brigade turned up.
“It was initially a small fire contained to one small flat, however, that has spread to other flats.
“We’ve got residents out on the streets looking at their properties burning.” He works as an engineer and said that around five flats appeared to have been heavily damaged by the blaze.
He added: “People are pretty shaken and tired and upset. To be honest I am feeling a little bit numb.
“The police are looking after us. They have got us into a building across the road.”
Conservative MSP for Central Scotland Graham Simpson has property within the block and was evacuated together with the opposite residents.
He mentioned: “It began on the fifth ground and it’s unfold as much as the sixth ground and it appears it has gone into the stairwell.
“I’ve seen folks in tears as a result of they’ve probably misplaced their houses. Everyone was evacuated and received out and everyone seems to be secure, in order that’s the primary factor.”
He added: “He added: “The fireplace brigade can’t drive as much as the entrance of the flats so that they’re having to hold ladders as much as the entrance to get to balconies.
“They are doing a unbelievable job however they’re restricted by the design.”
