Woman hoisted the other way up by store shutters is immortalised with graffiti tribute

A plucky 71-year-old grandmother who went viral when she unexpectedly discovered herself hanging in mid-air exterior her native store, has been immortalised with a graffiti tribute to the incident.

Anne Hughes says she will now snicker about the entire incident, reflecting with a chuckle: “It could only happen to me.” She turned an web sensation when her coat acquired caught within the electrical shutters of a store and she or he was abruptly hoisted seven toes into the air, nonetheless clutching her procuring trolley.

And now, an artist has sprayed an outline of the incident on the shutters of the store the place it occurred.

Luckily for Anne, a courageous shopkeeper from the Best One retailer in Tonteg, close to Pontypridd, South Wales, sped to her rescue after the incident.

He gently cradled her in his arms as one other colleague rigorously lowered the shutter, experiences Wales Online.

Close to residence, Anne mused on her sky-high journey saying: “I was just stood there when my coat got caught and up I went. I thought flipping heck!

“People say it might occur to anybody, no, it might solely occur to me! It’s simply fortunate I’ve acquired a superb sense of humour.”

The store shared CCTV footage of what occurred on-line and joked: “Don’t hang about like Anne, come down to Best One to get the best deals! The only thing going up in this shop is our staff, not the prices!”

A colleague mentioned: “She is a lovely lady and it was quite a surprise for her. But luckily she wasn’t hurt in any way. We know customers have been looking at the video – and we are just glad she is well.”

Villagers praised Anne for not panicking throughout the “absolutely terrifying” incident. One mentioned: “Fair play to her! I hope she’s ok, and I’m guessing by the share that she sees the funny side of it.” Another mentioned: “Omg poor Anne. Bless her heart. I’m glad she’s okay xx”.
