McDonald’s is launching its biggest burger yet.
The fast food chain is set to give Burger King’s Whopper burger a run for its money. Back in December, Maccies dropped hints it would whip up a “larger, satiating burger”.
Bloomberg said for those who reckon the Quarter Pounder just doesn’t cut it, there might be a chance to get their hands on this beefed-up creation during its trial run.

Now McDonald’s revealed it’s going to put the new burger through its paces at selected diners in the US and around the world, all in the name of customer satisfaction.
While it’s still up in the air if this mega burger will hit UK shores, McDonald’s is buzzing with excitement over the idea, reports the Express.
McDonald’s CFO Ian Borden said: “Our team of chefs from around the world have created a larger satiating burger.
“We’ll be testing this burger in a few markets later this year ensuring that it has universal appeal before scaling it across the globe.”
The drive behind launching this hefty burger is the company’s belief that foodies are on the hunt for more, hence the push for an addition which offers “superior value”.

McDonald’s is set to unleash a new supersized burger that could rival the Big Mac. It currently offers the Quarter Pounder which weighs in at 4oz before cooking.
However, the new burger is set to dwarf its predecessor, potentially offering a more substantial challenge to Burger King’s iconic Whopper.
Despite both burgers boasting 4oz patties, the Whopper packs a punch with 670 calories, while the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder with cheese clocks in at a slightly lighter 520 calories.
McDonald’s remains tight-lipped on the price of the behemoth burger, but there are reports it could set customers back between $6-$8 (£4.78-£6.38).
Details on the exact name, ingredients, and launch date are still under wraps, but the fast food giant confirmed the burger will be trialled in selected restaurants soon.
This testing phase will allow McDonald’s to gather feedback and potentially tweak the size, recipe, and price before a wider rollout.
McDonald’s CEO, Chris Kempczinski, said: “We think we’re going to be able to deliver a great tasting large burger at a superior value to what customers can get anywhere else.”
