Harry ‘requested for sit-down with William’ – insider shares purpose for snub

Harry and William won’t be having a catch-up when the Duke of Sussex heads back to the UK next week because their relationship has become so bitterly fractured, according to an insider.

Fans of the Royal Family were hoping the pair would bury the hatchet and see each other when Harry flies in from the United States – with the recent royal double-cancer blow seen as a possible catalyst for the repairing of relations.

But Prince Harry, 39, won’t be seeing Prince William when he comes back for a service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

The duke will be seeing King Charles during his London visit, though.

According to the Mirror, a source said: “Harry has kept in regular contact with his father on several occasions and made no secret of his desire to see him when he can.

“He has been especially concerned about him and hopes the King will be well and able to see him as planned.”

As far as the relationship between Charles’s two sons is concerned, an insider said: “Their relationship remains extremely fractured. Harry has privately expressed a wish to sit down with his brother but now is not the time.”

It’ll be the second time Harry has seen his dad since the King’s cancer diagnosis. He saw him for half an hour back in February, the day after it was announced Charles had cancer.

It will be just another brief visit to the UK for Harry, who’s made a new life for himself in the US following his bitter rift with the wider Royal Family.

He’s due to arrive in London on Tuesday. By Thursday he’ll be on his way to Nigeria where he’ll hook up with his wife Meghan. That’ll be their first trip to the country, which comes after Meghan revealed last year that she’s “43% Nigerian”.
