Omaze has hit back against credit check rumours which accuse it of rejecting winners with low credit scores.
The “for-profit” entertainment company runs competitions for entrants to win luxury, multimillion pound pads but has been blighted with “curse” rumours. Now Omaze has hit back at a slightly more serious allegation following the result of another home draw.
Omaze announced on Friday that the winning code for its Cheshire House Draw was now live in a Facebook post and hundreds of Brits flocked to the comments section to react to announcement.

Among them, Elișh Tanase posted a comment, challenging Omaze to discuss rumours of the company running credit checks on entrants.
They wrote: “Guys from Omaze UK, I heard that you guys are running a credit check on people and if they have a low credit score they will never ever win anything, so what’s the point of paying money for this?”
Omaze replied to the question, writing that they don’t vet entrants. Their response read: “Elișh Tanase We do not run credit checks. Omaze do not vet checks to see if potential winners can afford the house. They do run extensive eligibility and proof of identity checks before entering into the conveyancing process.”
The exchange took place among a sea of comments, many lamenting they didn’t win the mansion.
Surrounded by extensive verdant landscaped grounds, the sprawling two-story detached new build boasted several lounge and reception areas, as well as an outdoor entertainment area for dining and lounging.
Valued at £3.5million, the home is made from brick, sandstone and timber and comes with a walk-in pantry a bespoke wine store, a cinema room, home gym and a master bedroom suite boasting a dressing room and ensuite.
The draw will donate £1,000,000 to the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK.
One user commented: “I don’t think its me ho hum maybe next time. Congratulations to who ever won I hope you will love living there.”
Another wrote: “It was a vain hope but I did hope today would be the day my luck would change. Congratulations to the winner enjoy a great house. Great choice in charity. It needs all the funds it can get.”
Time will tell if the winner of the Cheshire House Draw will sell up or move in, after previous winners falling victim to the curse of the Omaze draw.
Daily Star reports that most Omaze house winners end up flogging their less than a year after winning them due to the eye-watering bills that come with them, which are barely covered by the £100,000 cash prize draw winners are given to settle in.
