A retired pipe-fitter has revealed how his initial thoughts were of concern after realising he had won on the Postcode Lottery.
The excitement of winning the Postcode Lottery was almost too much for Peter Nicholson, who won £90,000 on the Postcode Lottery.
The retiree from Scunthorpe jokingly said his immediate thoughts were about his heart as news of his win gave him “palpitations”.

He said: “This is absolutely fantastic, but it doesn’t do my heart any good.
“I’ve got palpitations and can’t believe I’ve won. I wasn’t expecting that kind of money.”
Despite his heart flutters, he managed to call his wife Deborah, 67, and stun her with the news too.
Despite winning big, the couple have modest plans for the cash.
Peter said: “There are a few mundane things, like getting the drive done.
“But we’ll definitely have a holiday. We’ve been to the east coast of Canada before, but we might go to Calgary on the west coast now.”
Deborah added: “This is a shock…brilliant. We’ll do the driveway and definitely go on holiday for two weeks.”
The couple were among the neighbours who struck gold, winning £90,909, after their postcode DN15 8DL won the Postcode Lottery’s weekly Millionaire Street price on Saturday, May 4, reports The Sun.
Among the other winners, Ann Sheardown is now nearly £182,000 richer after buying two tickets, and also felt the win in her heart.
She said: “I feel sick. I don’t know what to do with myself. I don’t know what to say. This is absolutely amazing. My watch heart monitor is at 113bpm.”
This follows the news that National Lottery bosses are on the hung for two clueless Brits who are unaware they’ve each scooped a £1m prize.
Daily Star reports that the lucky pair haven’t yet come forward to claim their whopping £1,000,000 windfalls from last Friday’s EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw, which turned 10 punters into millionaires in a flash.
