Bank Holiday booze up sees Brits pack nightclubs on Sunday – and many kebabs

People up and down the country hit pubs, bars and nightclubs last night (Sunday, May 5) with the long Bank Holiday weekend providing Brits with the perfect excuse to booze

Boozy revellers made the most of the long Bank Holiday weekend as they filled pubs, bars and nightclubs up and down the country last night (Sunday, May 5).

People were taking advantage of the decent weekend weather, with temperatures rising above 20C in some parts of the country.

Hundreds were pictured queueing up at clubs, with no need to worry about how they would get through work today (Monday, May 6) with a sore head. Others were seen tucking into kebabs and chips in a bid to power themselves through what was sure to be a big night.

Last year the first May Bank Holiday saw Brits consume 51.1million pints of draught beer and cider, according to data from Oxford Partnership. That was an 8.5% increase from 2022.

And judging by these photos from Birmingham last night, it would appear the first May Bank Holiday had a similar impact on the booze trade this year…
